GARDENING!!!!

THE NEW BEDS

So excited this year for the garden! A flat level surface to put raised beds on.

My youngest son ( who wants/will be a heavy equipment  operator) drove our tractor and did such a great job....tears and smiles!
I've wanted to do this for years and now its done..so happy about this.
Before we moved plants and "rock" beds. They were not very deep, no space in between to walk, and to wide.

....and the starting
beds made from pallets!! Oldest son, my self and youngest son got out the sawsall, Cut through the nails, stacked good wood from "to damaged to use".
   More screws.
   charged the drill
   measured twice.....
and here are some waiting for placement and soil and plants

The tall one is for Blueberries. Yesterday I called the 4 posts "netterholders" lol and that's what they will do, hold netting up around the blueberries so the birds wont get them. So new garden word, heeehee, I like it, puts a smile on my face....just say'n ;)
Off to find more pallets, I've run out of long boards.
I will also buy a few cedar fence boards form Home depot. They are 6ft long 6in wide and $1.74 each. I need 2 or 3 longer beds , pallets aren't that long.

I have some cedar logs from a friend that will flank my raspberries. Pea gravel will go in between to keep weeds out. I am giddy about the pea gravel!!! I love rocks, I love the crunchy sound it makes when you walk on it.
The light pea gravel ( I read somewhere) will reflect light/moon light :)      Add some solor lights from Walmart (1.00 or so each) ooohhh I am jumping with excitement! pretty at night and feeding my family by day, what joy!

Lots of canning and drying and freezing and the market bill will shrink and AND I will have fresh, organic, juicy, TASTY VEGGIES!!

 Have a great day!

Sewing and Cooking

Good Morning!

Almost finished my house robe. This took forever to start....just need to put a hem on it and done!

Between Christmas, January ....lol......I've put it off. I do not want to fall back into the procrastination
mode. So do do do it! I started and I sewed it in the most back ward way possible and its almost done and I will be able to wear it soon.

An old bed sheet caught my eye at Goodwill,(I love Goodwill) I saw another one with cherry blossoms and little green leaves that was pretty also. I got this one for my daughter. Her robe is finished......HHUUUMMM priorities ?? :)

On another note for my Valentine I made him bacon roses, very easy, just roll them up stick a tooth pick or 2 through the bottom bake 350 for about 35 mins or so and , well yum and manly roses, hee hee
 Next up GARDENING.....
Have a great day!
